The INFJ personality type is believed to be the rarest of all the personality types. They are generally on the quiet and reserved side. They can sometimes be socially awkward, and somewhat eccentric. However, they are generally interested in people and relationships. They are often idealists, and want to improve the world. INFJs are also often creative types.

How to spot an INFJ? Appearance wise, they will often wear something that is unique. Many INFJs are likely to dye their hair in artificial colours and get tattoos as a form of expression. They tend to be reserved and private people, so the motivation for unconventional choices will not be for attention.

INFJ Personality Type Careers

They would suit careers that allowed them to work alone, or at least with fewer people for some portion of the day. They often make good counsellors due to being good listeners and their compassionate nature. Their idealist views may move them towards teaching careers. They wish to have a positive influence on the next generation. Career examples: designer, writer, nutritionist, psychologist, social worker, environmental aid worker, and librarian.

Creative

Introverted intuitive is a good combination for creatively. They tend to be very good at design and aesthetics. Creative people are also good at looking past the conventional and traditional, so more likely to come up with new ideas and ways of doing things.

Altruistic

INFJs are one of the few truly altruistic types. They have a genuine and passionate desire to help others, and to make the world a better place.  

Ethical

Their morals are extremely important to them. When they say something, or make a promise, they have a strong impulse to keep it. They value trust and honesty above all else.

INFJ Personality Type Weaknesses

Sensitive

They can be somewhat overly sensitive when they are criticised about something that they find close to their hearts. Also, if their trust is betrayed, they will likely take it very personally, and they may never forgive such betrayal.   

Overly Private

INFJ personalities are very interested in people, their problems and relationships. However, they can be very reserved when it comes to their own personal lives and problems.

Not Realistic

INFJs ideals are more based on emotion rather than logic. The foundation of their political and societal views is that things should be distributed evenly throughout the population. They want fairness and equality. However, the reality is, these things can never be achieved, and when thought about logically and deeply, these goals make less rational sense.
