Psychology of Tribalism & Why Multiculturalism is Failing?

What is the psychology of tribalism, and why it’s causing the social experiment of multiculturalism to fail in western societies?

What is Tribalism?

Tribalism refers to a strong sense of loyalty and identity with a particular social group, often based on shared culture, ethnicity, religion, or other defining characteristics.

Evolutionary Roots

Tribalism has deep evolutionary roots. Early humans relied on forming groups for survival, protection, and resource sharing. This instinct to belong to a group is still present in modern society. Being part of a group provides psychological comfort and security. It reduces feelings of isolation and helps individuals cope with uncertainty and stress.

Our tribal nature can lead to cohesion within a particular group. However, it can also result in frictions, divisions, and conflicts between differing groups or tribes. These are the positive and negative consequences that arise from humans being social creatures.

Tribalism often leads to a division between “us” (the in-group) and “them” (the out-group). People tend to favour members of their own group and view outsiders with suspicion or hostility.

Cognitive Biases

Cognitive biases, such as confirmation bias and ingroup bias, play a role in reinforcing tribalism. People tend to seek information that supports their group’s beliefs and discount information that contradicts them.

Why Multiculturalism is Failing?

When people failure to accept responsibility for their failures.

Because multiculturalism in the west actively promotes difference, therefore division. The whole premise is flawed, it goes against human evolutionary behaviour. Most cultures expect outsiders to integrate and adapt to the main culture, and for good reason (stability).

Multiculturalism is a massive ideological social experiment forced upon the populations of many western countries by their politicians. It’s an idealistic, naïve utopian fantasy, much like the ideas of Marx’s communism that resulted in the deaths of millions during the days of the Soviet Union.

A solution in the past has been to make sure that people coming into a country adapt and adjust to the culture of the main populace. The idea is to minimize the differences that people have due to having more shared values, and therefore more social cohesion.

However, this idea has been completely discarded in recent times. Instead, the idea of integration is often seen as intolerant, and even bigoted. Many western countries seem to be on a path of cultural suicide. This is partly due to the demonization of the west.

This is also a good, perhaps the best, argument against centralized power, entities such as the European Union. Centralized power allows more damage to be done when our politicians get things wrong, which is often.

All cultures are not equal or compatible

This may be controversial and politically incorrect to say. However, it’s clearly and obviously true to anyone who thinks about this for more than a few seconds. If a culture is particularly oppressive to women and minority groups, which conflicts with the movement of western cultures, which are some of the least oppressive and most equal societies in the world. Simply put, some cultures are inferior and dangerous, and allowing them to thrive in western societies is just asking for problems.

If that oppressive culture doesn’t adapt or integrate, then we end up with a divided society with many social problems. This will only lead to a two-way resentment between those conflicting cultures, and resentment can lead to hate, and hate can lead to very bad things.

The politicians responsible for this don’t want to admit vault. They engage in cover-ups, making themselves complicit in those problems.

Multiculturalism is failing, in part due to the pandering and protection of oppressive cultures by far-left-wing governments. Something that shows the complete lack of thought on this subject is that those on the far-left support cultures that would be classified in many ways as far-right.

We need to be honest, political correctness needs to be confined to the dustbin. Multiculturalism is a failed experiment which has already resulted in serious social problems.

We are seeing the problems with human tribalism with those tribes turning against each other.

More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them.

Summary & Solution

Multiculturalism is failing due to tribalism, and a lack of integration from very different cultures. Some of those cultures are oppressive and abusive of human rights. At the same time, they are being protected by the far-left governments, even covering-up crimes committed by certain cultures.

Integration into the majority culture should be encouraged. While far from perfect, western cultures are simply better, freer, and less oppressive than just about any other culture that has ever existed.
